Uranium Equities' Narraweena exploration licence (EPM 15101) covers 320km² of uranium prospective ground in Queensland, including extensions of the Carboniferous acid volcanics which host the Ben Lomond uranium deposit (not owned by Uranium Equities Limited). The EPM is located approximately 35km west of Townsville, and is easily accessible. Uranium mineralisation from the Ben Lomond deposit is believed to extend into the ground held by Uranium Equities, albeit at depth, as the Carboniferous acid volcanics dip beneath cover sequence of the Insolvency Gully Formation.
The Ben Lomond mineralisation consists of a series of steeply dipping fractures associated with a shear zone which strike EW and plunge to the East. Ben Lomond is contained in a series of mining leases adjacent to or excluded from Uranium Equities' EPM.
A program of work including aeromagnetic and radiometric surveys is planned for the EPM in 2007.
